Stainless steel membrane shell, also known as pressure vessel, is mainly used for filling reverse osmosis membrane (RO membrane). Its quality directly affects the performance of RO membrane, causing the RO membrane to shake and damage. The high pressure of the system leads to the gradual deformation of the membrane shell and the gradual leakage of the welding seam, causing unnecessary trouble and waste to the user.

The classification of stainless steel RO membrane shell

1.The RO membrane shell is divided into glass fiber reinforced plastic membrane shell and stainless steel 304 or 316 membrane shell in terms of material.

2. In terms of use, it can be divided into household membrane shells and industrial large membrane shells.

Selection of RO membrane shell

1.The size of the membrane shell used in the RO system mainly depends on the requirements of the designer. The arrangement of the membranes and the requirements of the sections are different. According to the different angles of the inlet and outlet, they are divided into three types: 0 degrees, 90 degrees, and 180 degrees. In theory, the pressure resistance is better, but it increases the probability of water leakage from the pressure vessel.

2. The water flow and pressure of the 8-inch membrane are much larger than those of the 4-inch RO membrane. If two ports are opened on the membrane shell , the pressure resistance of the end face will be reduced, and at the same time, a lot of troubles will be added to the installation, so The 8-inch membrane shells are designed as water inlet and outlet on both sides.

3.The main problem is the flow rate of concentrated water. Because the maximum water recovery rate of a single membrane element is designed to be 16%, in order to improve the utilization rate of water, multiple membranes are used in series to solve the problem. The 4-inch membrance pressure drop is much larger than that of 8-inch membrane, so the number of series connections should not be too many. The specific number of series connections depends on the water quality and design parameters, and secondly, the selection of high-pressure pumps must be considered.
